Discography

Oscar Ferdinand’s musical journey is one of constant evolution. From his first album with acoustic, jazzy tones to his second, resolutely modern, he charts a path that blends tradition and innovation. His signature ingredients are always present: shades of Tropical Jazz, virtuosic improvisations on guitar and clarinet, deep and uplifting lyrics, and finely crafted harmonies. The transition from the first to the second record represents a true technological leap in terms of production, while remaining faithful to Oscar Ferdinand’s warm and melodic universe.

Album “Berlin”

📀 CD & Vinyl release: January 10, 2026 (Release Party at Le 105 – Mots Éphémères)

With its jazzy melodies, luminous and poetic lyrics, free improvisations, and acoustic production, this record is a genuine musical travel diary, full of freshness and driving rhythms. With “Berlin”, Oscar Ferdinand celebrates an accessible, danceable jazz – a jazz of escape.

Between the inspiring city of Berlin, where most of the songs were composed, and imagined or dreamed places – such as the tropical island of Tropical Swing or an America still in the hands of Native peoples in Tennessee – the album opens doors to a colorful imaginary world.

Recorded in Normandy, it blends jazz and Latin influences, following in the footsteps of artists like Louis Prima, Calypso Rose, Zaz, or Thomas Dutronc.

Second Album (upcoming)

Currently in the making, this second opus expands Oscar Ferdinand’s universe towards a much more modern aesthetic. It incorporates elements of funk, a touch of French touch, groovier rhythms, and a stronger presence of electric guitar. The drums, shaped through a more contemporary sound design, become a central driving force of the project’s energy.

The goal is clear: to combine the warm, groovy jazz of the first album with today’s production techniques, making every note sharper and more impactful, while preserving melodic improvisations, vocal harmonies, and the orchestral dimension so dear to Oscar.

An Orchestral and Enduring Vision

A multi-instrumentalist passionate about harmony, counterpoint, and groove, Oscar Ferdinand conceives his songs as evolving pieces: they work just as well in an intimate duo as in a quartet with bass and drums, but can also scale up to the richness of a big band or orchestra.

With already around fifty songs written, Oscar is only at the beginning of a creative journey that grows each year, inspired by musical encounters and life’s defining events. His ambition is to propose, in the long run, a varied, innovative, and world-traveling body of work – much like -M- (Matthieu Chedid) or Jacob Collier, two of his key references.

Oscar composes Songs mixing Jazz, Swing and Latin Roots, with always a Touch of French Chanson. He writes in different languages, mostly English and French and produces his songs with all his instruments but also with talented musicians of the Jazz and Funk Scene with whom he regularly perform on stage.
